Studio Laan worked closely with the office tenant, a federal government IT security contractor, to design a commercial suite tailored to their unique functional and privacy needs. The suite includes 12 bright perimeter private offices and 8 large interior workstations in 2 clusters. The centrally located interior workspace is flooded with natural light, and designed to foster collaboration. Adjacent to the open office space, a generous workroom and a sleek, modern semi-open break room with communal central island further encourage interaction between employees.

The most distinctive feature of the office suite is the inclusion of a separate conference center. This area includes a pre-function lounge with its own private kitchen, and conference & presentation room designed to comfortably accommodate more than 26 people. Studio Laan responded to the client’s needs by developing the conferencing area as an independent suite within the main office. Separate mechanical systems, and discrete access from the building common corridor, allow the space to be used both as an adjunct to the main office; or independently to continue work after hours.

Studio Laan provided full-service design and construction administration services for the project. To ensure a seamless transition for the tenant, Studio Laan worked collaboratively with the client, building owner, and general contractor to expedite construction and deliver under a tight deadline.
